ANNOUNCEMENTS
The World Peace and Understnding Dinner will be on February 9, 2010. Starting time : 6:00p.m. at the Ferncroft in Peabody.
Board Meeting - Wednesday, Jan. 20, 11:30 a.m., Anthony's.
We had a special collection for the fire victims of the Pleasant St. fire. The club collected $251 for the victims. Thank you, so much, Rotarians.
Barbara Durgin is going to get food cards for the 60+ people who are left homeless and in need of food and other items.
We will be holding a collection for Polio Plus, next week. The announcement stating the amount we have contributed, will be given at the World Peace Dinner, on February 9.
Sulu.......who has set up the tables and chairs, the lunch buffet, and as well is the food server for our functions at Anthony's, is from Haiti and has family members in Haiti. Unfortunately , he has not been able to reach them. Our prayers and hopeful thoughts are with him and his family. We will be holding a collection for the Haiti Earthquake victims at a future meeting.
The guest speaker was Mary Cheney. She placed 2nd in the World Speaking Contest. She was very inspirational and uplifting. (I'm sorry I missed her talk..........oh, well).......
Thank you, Malden Rotarians. A new year is upon us with new challenges and new dreams and aspirations. We are people who put SERVICE ABOVE SELF. This is my wish of 2010, a year of growth and further development of our purpose SERVICE ABOVE SELF.
